Summer Activities

The Pyrenees National Park is 15km away and here you will find walks and hikes for all levels, with or without a guide.

The UNESCO world heritage site the “Cirque de Gavarnie” is 45km from Les Ruisseaux.

For a light walk, you can try the ‘voie verte des gaves’ (a former tramway) connecting  Cauterets to Pierrefitte  and then to Lourdes which passes right in front of the house.

Climbing, canyoning, rafting, kayaking, caving, bungee jumping, paragliding, horseback riding can all  be found nearby. 

For mountain bike fans there is the Bike Park is open at Cauterets with 1500m of downhill track.

For the less active, visit Lourdes 25 minutes away by car with its famous Basilica, the Shrine and the Chateau Fort or take the funicular to the Pic de Jer.

Also nearby are the caves at the Grottes de Betherram, among the most beautiful caves in the world. The Pyrenees Animal Park is a 10-minute drive away. There you can see bears, otters, marmots and other mountain animals in a spectacular setting. At the Donjon des aigles you can see a show with birds of prey. To relax there is the spa the Thermes de Cesar in Cauterets.
